BEANS COVE, PA – Betty Jane Ruby, 83, of Beans Cove, PA, passed away Saturday, October 23, 2021, at the Hearthstone Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born May 2, 1938, she was a daughter of the late Ralph and Flora (Miller) Hoopengardner. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Vernon Ruby; daughter, Diana Bennett; son-in-law, David Eichelman; two infant brothers, Ralph and Richard Hoopengardner; two additional brothers, Elmer and Bernard Hoopengardner. Betty leaves behind her children, Mary Eichelman and Paul "Kenny" Ruby and wife, Bonnie; son-in-law, Gary Bennett; grandchildren, Sydney and Olivia Bennett; step-grandchildren, Braden Karns, Christa Davis, and Rebecca Elbin; sister-in-law, Myrtle Robinette; sisters, Hilda Ruby, Shirley Trail, Linda VanMeter, and Helen Self; brother, Clifford Hoopengardner. A private graveside service will be held at Beans Cove Methodist Church Cemetery with Pastor Richard Ketterman officiating. Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A. is entrusted with arrangements.
