FLINTSTONE, MD Joseph Lee Barnes, 78, of Flintstone, passed away on Thursday, September 13, 2018, at his residence.Born December 23, 1939, in Cumberland, he was the son of the late Lloyd and Thelma (Sowers) Barnes. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one sister, Helen Northcraft; and one brother, Daniel Barnes.Mr. Barnes worked as a front end loader operator at Blue Triangle Hardwoods of Everett, PA, for over 50 years.Surviving are his wife, Arlena Suella (Hall) Barnes; two sons, Kenny Barnes and wife Debbie, Flintstone; Gary Barnes and wife Tammy, LaVale; one sister, Martha Fletcher, Cumberland; five grandchildren, Garrett, Nathaniel, Megan, Devin, and Josh; and several great-grandchildren.Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, on Sunday, September 16, 2018 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Monday, September 17, 2018 at 11 a.m.with Pastor Reuben Rinker, of Mountain Top Church, Flintstone, officiating.Interment will be in Glendale Cemetery, Flintstone.Condolences for the family may be left at www.ScarpelliFH.com.
