Cumberland—Mary Ruth Goss, 84, of Cumberland, passed away on Saturday, April 18, 2020, at the Moran Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born in Cumberland, MD, on February 24, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Laura Virginia (Swick) and LeRoy Crawford. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James H. "Jimmy" Goss; son, Wayne H. Myers, Jr.; granddaughter, Christine Myers; son-in-law, Jack Holtschneider. Mary Ruth attended Fort Hill High School. She was a homemaker, wife, and mother. Mary Ruth, at one point in her life, was an elderly care worker. She is survived by her daughter, Debra Holtschneider; grandchildren, John Parks, Timothy Holtschneider, Keith Holtschneider and wife Wanda, Jen VanGilder and husband Tim, and Denise Harley; great-grandchildren, Nolan Parks, Zackari Parks, Caleb Parks, Lexi Parks, Brittany Connor, Akira VanGilder, Xander VanGilder, Derek Harley, LeeAnna Harley; great-great-granddaughter, Lili Harley. Mary Ruth will be cremated, and her cremains will be placed into Restlawn Memorial Gardens. Because of health concerns, the funeral service will be private. A memorial service will be conducted at a later time.
