CUMBERLAND – Patricia Genevieve Ruppenkamp, 85, of Cumberland, passed away Monday, January 9, 2023.

Born June 12, 1937, in Lonaconing, MD, she was a daughter of the late Daniel and Genevive (Hughes) McGann. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James E. Ruppenkamp in May 2002; son, James P. Ruppenkamp; brother, Dennis McGann; sister, Joanne Clair.

Patricia was a 1955 graduate of Ursuline Academy and a member of St. Mary's Church. As an avid bowler, she frequented The Bowler for over 35 years. She and her husband were founding members of the Bishop Walsh Athletic Association and remained very active over the years. The couple were sports fans who traveled to as many Notre Dame football and Pittsburgh Pirates baseball games as they could.

Patricia also liked to keep her mind active, completing as many as twelve crossword puzzles per day. She loved to read and visited her local libraries often. Cooking was another hobby of hers, and her children continue to follow her delicious recipes.

She leaves behind her children, Christopher Ruppenkamp (Bonnie), Denise Wright (Mark), Jo Ruppenkamp, Jonathan Ruppenkamp (Kathy), and Jennifer Marvin; daughter-in-law, Selinda Ruppenkamp; grandchildren, Kayla Davis (Grant), Karin Lewis (Ken), Rebecca, Jimmy, and Mary Valentine, Megan King (Jamie), Jason Wright (Rachel), Morgan Ruppenkamp (Adam), Zachary Ruppenkamp, Adam Ruppenkamp, Skylar King, and Mallary Marvin (Jordan); honorary granddaughter, Lindsay Stahl; great-grandsons, Jameson, Elijah, Jaxson, Henry, Layton, and Sawyer who is due in May; sister, Lois Flanigan; and many nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Avenue, Cumberland, on Thursday, January 12, 2023, from 5 to 7pm. A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday, January 13, 2023, at 10am. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
