FT. ASHBY, WV – Virginia "Jeni" Ketterman Taylor, 90, of Ft. Ashby, WV, formerly of Rawlings, MD, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, March 26, 2021, at Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, WV.
Born June 2, 1930, in Rawlings, MD, she was the daughter of the late Jesse Franklin Ketterman and Margie Carr Ketterman. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Janet Springer Humbertson; sisters, Nellie "Tootie" Cosner, Rosalee Rogers, and Jean Goins; brothers, Thomas "Bud" Ketterman, Roy Ketterman, Lewis Ketterman, Jesse Ketterman, and Howard Ketterman; and son-in-law, Larry VanMeter.
Jeni was retired from ATK Rocket Center, WV, in 1993. Virginia was also employed by Sears for many years, where she was head cashier. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Ft. Ashby. She had a beautiful soprano voice, and enjoyed singing in the choir. Jeni loved watching her flowers bloom, and enjoyed the various birds that came to her yard. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother.
Surviving are her loving husband, Thomas Taylor; daughters, Linda Hurzon (Larry), and Rita VanMeter; grandsons, Larry VanMeter, Jr., Timothy VanMeter (Stephanie), Jason VanMeter (Amy), and Thomas "Buddy" VanMeter (Dusti); great-grandchildren, Kevin, Alex, Xavier, Kasey, Brody, Danica, Emma, Grayson, Whiautt, and Waylon; brothers, Bill Ketterman, and James Ketterman (Doris); sisters-in-law, June Ketterman, Donna Ketterman, and Helen Keller; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins, whom she loved.
Family and friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 15205 McMullen Hwy SW, Cresaptown, on Tuesday, March 30, 2021, from 5 to 8 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday, March 31, 2021, at 11 a.m. with Rev. W. Scott Ingleton and Pastor Sherri Ziler officiating. Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Tim VanMeter, Jason VanMeter, Thomas "Buddy" VanMeter, and great-grandsons, Alex, Xavier, and Brody.
The family has requested that, in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, 84 Dan's Run Road, Ft. Ashby, WV, 26719; or to Danville Church of the Brethren, 20510 McMullen Hwy, Rawlings, MD 21557.
