Obituary

Rawlings – Ada Lee (Gordon) Moreland, 84, of Rawlings, passed away on Sunday, April 7, 2024 at Allegany Health Nursing and Rehab.

Born September 6, 1939, in Rawlings, MD, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin Gordon and Gladys (Shingleton) Gordon. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband of 67 years, Earl Dubbs Moreland, Sr. on January 17, 2024; son, Aaron Moreland, Sr.; and great-granddaughter, Emmalee Moreland; and sister, Betty (Gordon) Cook.

She was a homemaker, senior caregiver and member of the Danville Community Church.

She was also a member of the Rawlings Lioness Club, volunteered for many charities, enjoyed crafting and home interior design.

She is survived by her three sons, Creed (Pam) Moreland, Earl (Kelly) Moreland, Jr., and Jason (Rhonda) Moreland; nine grandchildren, Josh, Shanna, Jessica, Aaron, Nicholas, Sierra, Derek, Brandon and Jensen; 14 great-grandchildren; brothers, Ronald Gordon, Kenny Carter, and Joe Carter; sisters, Tina Carter and Candice (Carter) Pietroforte; brother-in-law, Dave Moreland; and daughter-in-law, Cecelia Moreland.

Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Avenue, Cumberland, on Thursday, April 11, 2024 from 12 to 2pm. A funeral service will immediately follow at 2pm with Pastor Christopher Talton officiating.

Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens.

In honor of her memory, contributions may be made to the Rawlings Volunteer Fire Department.
