Agnes "Pauline" Donahue Hovatter, 96, of Cumberland passed away on Monday, April 13 at UPMC-Western MD.
Pauline was the daughter of the late Frank and Regina Donahue. She was also preceded in death by her husband Robert "Ralph"
Hovatter, her son David Hovatter, one sister Marion Donahue, three brothers Ralph, Paul and Wellington Donahue. Wellington was killed in Vietnam. Her son in law James Albright. Pauline was the last member of her immediate family.
Pauline was a 1948 member of the Ursuline Academy graduating class. After graduation she worked at Christopher Photo Lab where she met her husband. They enjoyed having lunch together at Shaw's Tavern. They married and enjoyed rearing three children. After Ralph died in 1977, she worked as care giver. She also worked at Memorial Hospital as a Nurse's Aide. She enjoyed the company of her two grandchildren and one great grandchild. They always brought a smile to her face. She also treasured her friendship with cousin, Judy Stegmaier. They were like sisters. They played cards together every Friday and Sunday after dinner. Judy was very generous doing errands and sharing vegetables from her farm. She also enjoyed crossword puzzles and "Celebrity Cyphers".
Surviving are her daughters Margaret "Peggy" Ann Hovatter and Therese "Bunny" Marie Albright; grandchildren Shannon Vitak (Jacob) and Jonathan Albright girlfriend Wendy; and her great grandson Rowan Vitak.
Per Pauline's request she was cremated with no services.
