Barbara "Gail" Rechichar Davis was born on July 28, 1954 at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD. She was the daughter of Albert Rechichar and Anne Sloan and the older sister to Burt Rechichar. She grew up in Knoxville, TN and lived there until she got married and moved to Western Maryland in 1973. Gail's dream in life was to be a mother and this was fulfilled through being a doting mother to three children George Davis III (wife Rayelle), Jacob Davis (wife Belinda) and Jennifer Davis. She was also a devoted nana to 8 grandchildren Joshua Montoya, Ashley Montoya, Sidney Davis, George Davis IV (fiancée Zoe), Corrina Fraley (husband Taylor), Savanna Davis (fiancée Tysen), Gwen Davis, and Brody Davis. She was also the great grandmother of Daniel Fraley. Gail loved her extended family back in Tennessee and her family extended by marriage in Oldtown and the surrounding area.

Gail loved children and this love was seen even beyond her immediate family. "Miss Gail" retired as the director of the school age childcare program at the YMCA after working there for nearly 18 years. When her children were young, she was the president of the PTA at John Humbird Elementary School. She loved her previous career as head cashier and managing the snack bar for Hills and Ames. She enjoyed playing bingo and made many friends at local games. Gail took great pride in her children and especially loved using her skills to help her sons manage their Elite Pro Wrestling Alliance events. Gail loved all the wrestlers, fans, kids, parents, and customers she had the pleasure of meeting and working with throughout the years. She had a beautiful singing voice and was famous among her family and friends for her potato salad and potato soup. She was also known to decorate a mean Christmas tree. Gail loved arts and crafts and going to the Constitution Park pool with her grandchildren and the children trusted in her care. She always had immense patience to help kids learn and to feel safe and loved. Gail had asked that the following quote be shared to represent what was important to her in her life and the legacy she hoped to leave:

"A hundred years from now it will not matter what my bank account was, the type of house I lived in, or the kind of car I drove, but the world may be different because I was important in the life of a child."

Friends will be received on Wednesday, March 22 from 12-2 pm at Scarpelli Funeral Home 108 Virginia Avenue Cumberland, MD 21502.
