SPRING GAP, MD – Barbara Piper Giles, 89, of Spring Gap, MD, passed away on Sunday, August 29, 2021, at Paramount Assisted Living, in Fredericksburg, VA. Born on October 13, 1931, in Spring Gap, MD, she was the daughter of the late John M. and Marietta (Wilson) Piper. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lathren "Lee" Giles; and her siblings, Donald Piper, John "Randy" Piper, Jack "Buddy" Piper, and Lois Piper-Gray. Barbara was a graduate of Oldtown High School. Following high school, she immediately began working on Capitol Hill, where she advanced her career from secretary to case worker. Barbara was active in the Ocean City Senior Center, and she enjoyed doing crafts. She was a lifelong member of Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church. She is survived by her brother, Ken Piper; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be conducted at Mt.
