FORT ASHBY – Betty Lee Smith, 95, of Fort Ashby, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 8, 2023, at Allegany Health Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Born on March 8, 1927, in Elkins, WV, she was the daughter of the late Howard O. and Virginia V. (Kerns) Larry. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her two husbands, Thomas Jefferson See (former Cumberland, MD police enforcer), and William Martin Smith; as well as her only sibling, William Howard Larry; twin grandsons, Daniel Joseph Barranti and David William (Barranti) Morgan.

Betty was a secretary for several schools in Cumberland, MD, and Cumberland City Hall, during the 1960s. She loved and served her Lord Jesus, and was a regular attendee of Grace Fellowship of Mineral Baptist Church in Fort Ashby.

Betty is survived by her children, Betty Jane Sharman-Whitney, Ellicott City, MD, Kimberly See Morgan (Steve), Sykesville, MD, and Thomas Calton See (Donna), Fort Ashby, WV; grandchildren, Stephanie Lois Morgan, and Tanner Joseph Sharman; and one great-grandson, Jadyn Daniel Morgan.

Graveside services will be conducted at Sunset Memorial Park on Saturday, January 14, 2023, at Noon with Pastor Randy Larry officiating.
