Obituary

Beverly Ann Cook, 76, of Cumberland, was welcomed into the kingdom of Heaven where she met up with her parents Carl Jerome "Barney" Doolan and Betty "Honey" Doolan on Jan 29, 2024.

Bev was a 1965 graduate of Ursuline Academy and went on to obtain her degree as a registered nurse.

Matthew 25:40 Whatever you did for the least of mine, you did for me.

Beverly was a servant, willing to be used for his purposes. She was an active member at Central Assembly of God church. She served many roles through the years. She taught missionettes, sang in the choir, taught small groups, did hospital visitations, made meals, and served as the church parish nurse.

After retiring from a 35 year career with Memorial Hospital she worked part time as a nurse for Allegany County Public Schools. She loved and cared for our community's children so very well.  Every person in our family and extended family has called on mom/Grammy for medical advice at some point. And after giving advice she would pray for you. She always said, we should do our best and trust God to do the rest. Many people were already in the kingdom of heaven because of her faithfulness in sharing salvation and God's love.

She loved music, dancing, the beach, The Price is Right, Family Fued and every single Hallmark movie made.  She sported her colors for the kids rather it was red or blue; it could be soccer, football, baseball, band competitions, school programs, open mic nights, dance recitals, gymnastics, school musicals, or church performances. You name it, she was there. She taught all of us Jesus with her unconditional love. I can hear him now, well done my good and faithful servant.

Those surviving; we grieve but not without hope are her husband Joseph "Butch" Cook; brother Carl Daniel Doolan and wife Tammie, of Frisco, Texas; sister-in-law, Jan Cook, of Laurel MD; her three children Ronnie Bierman and wife Laarnie, daughter Trina Simpson and husband Brent, daughter Karen Stafford and husband Keith; step daughter Stacey Robertson and husband BJ; Grammy to 8 grandchildren Savannah Summers and husband Mason, Devin McGregor and wife Shelby, Forest Bierman, Dakota Bierman and wife Hannah, Keifer Stafford and wife Madie, Korey Stafford, Bethany Robertson, and Tyler Robertson; and 7 great grandchildren Graham, Juniper, Imogen, Calum, Silas, Phoebe, and Ellie Kate.

We would like to thank the staff of UPMC for their incredible efforts. Special thanks to Dan Haines who gave such devoted time and attention. Dan's expertise was top notch. We could not have asked for better care.

Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Avenue, Cumberland, MD on Thursday, February 1, 2024, from 4-7pm.
