Obituary

Beverly Jane Warnick, 85, of Cumberland, Maryland, passed away gently on July 17, 2025, surrounded by love and memories that spanned a rich, full life.

Born on September 22, 1939, in Cumberland, Bev was the daughter of the late Cecil D. Warnick, Sr. and Margaret (Kram) Warnick. She was preceded in death by her brother, Cecil Dwayne Warnick; her half-sister, Yvonne Robertson Spataro; her dear best friend, Barbara Jackson; and many others she cherished throughout her journey.

Bev is survived by her godson Larry Jackson and his wife Sarah and goddaughter Beverly Jackson Bongiorno, and her husband Scott. Beverly loved her god kids as if they were her own.

She is also survived by dear friend Lonnie Jackson; her sister-in-law Sandra Warnick and nephews Dwayne, Donny, and David. She also leaves behind her beloved friends Wayne and Carolyn Bowman, and numerous first cousins including John Warnick, with whom she shared a love of bowling.

A natural athlete from a young age, Bev was a standout basketball player in high school before going on to excel in softball. She proudly played on the original Old German Hermenettes travel team and later served as both coach and player for the Cresaptown Women's Team.

Bowling, however, was her true lifelong passion. She was a fixture in local leagues at both White Oaks and The Bowler, where she earned a reputation as one of the top women bowlers in the region. Her commitment to the sport extended to attending numerous national WIBC tournaments, representing her community with pride and skill.

Bev's professional life was marked by over 50 years of dedicated service to the Ford Motor Company, beginning at Kowell Ford in Cumberland. Her loyalty and work ethic made her a beloved employee.

She also gave generously of her time as a longtime member and active volunteer with the Cresaptown Eagles, where she enjoyed countless hours of fellowship.

Beverly was a member of the Fairview Avenue United Methodist Church.

Bev found joy in travel, especially her treasured annual birthday trips to Nags Head with lifelong friends—moments that brought laughter, stories, and unforgettable memories.

Bev Warnick will be remembered for her spirit, kindness and to loyalty to family and friends, touching the lives of so many.
