Bonnie Anne McKenzie passed away on Thursday, March 6, 2025 at the Cumberland Healthcare Center at the age of 77.

Born in Cumberland, Maryland on October 7, 1947, Bonnie was the daughter of the late William and Anne McKenzie.

Bonnie lived a full and simple life despite challenges with her disability. She loved music, especially Alabama, and she loved to color. Her room was adorned with pictures and handmade crafts. She was very social and enjoyed participating in group activities at the nursing home, while playing Bingo was among her favorites. She also enjoyed bowling and watching game shows.

Bonnie attended St. Peter & Paul Church in Cumberland. Bonnie also previously attended the Friends Aware day program where she made friends with other clients and staff members. During her time there, she loved participating in activities and enjoyed her job at Superfos.

Bonnie is survived by her loving brother and sister-in-law, William, Jr. "Spike" and Rosemary McKenzie; nieces, Becky Clark, Jenica, Courtney and Felicia McKenzie, and nephews, Kevin and Andrew McKenzie.

In addition to her parents, William and Anne, she was predeceased by her brothers, Timothy and Joseph McKenzie, and nephew, Michael McKenzie.

The family wishes to express their gratitude to the many who helped care for Bonnie over the years, including Jeannette Nelson from HRDC. Bonnie was a gentle soul, innocent and loving. Her life was a blessing, her memory a treasure.

Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Avenue, Cumberland on Tuesday, March 11, 2025 from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at SS. Peter and Paul Shrine on Wednesday, March 12, 2025 at 11:00 a.m.

Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park.
