Bonnie Tipton, 83, of Cumberland, MD went to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 3, 2026.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, John Tipton and second husband of six, Gerald "Jerry" Roy Hockman; three siblings, Bill Wilson, Kenny Wilson and Mary Anne Roach.
Surviving are her three children; daughter, Pamela McNeill and husband, Rick, son John Tipton and wife Renee and Matthew Tipton and wife Lisa; three siblings, brother, Gerald "Jerry" Wilson and girlfriend, Jo, sister, Darlene Brockey and husband, Paul, and brother, Ronald Lewis and wife, Diane; five grandchildren, Renee Morgan and husband, Adam, Megan Blacka and husband, Joseph, Kelsey Coleman and husband, Daniel, Joshua McNeill and wife, Breauna, and Sela Tipton; five great-grandchildren, Logan, Tucker, Evan, Easton, and Lainey; and three close friends, Julie Hast, Bonnie Clark and Jillian McCoy.
Bonnie was a 1960 graduate of Fort Hill High School who enjoyed her graduating class dinners and was a Fort Hill fan season ticket holder. She was a member of the Twiggtown Homemakers Club, the local Book Club and a volunteer for the Salvation Army.
She loved cooking for her family, all their family gatherings, vegetable gardening, planting flowers, her animals; chickens, cats, dogs, bunnies, knitting afghans, Raggedy Anne dolls, and spending time at the cabin by the river. Bonnie loved her family deeply.
The family would like to thank everyone for all your prayers and for her friends and caregivers who stopped in and checked on her.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, PA, 108 Virginia Avenue, Cumberland, MD, on Wednesday, January 7, from 11 am to 1:00 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Josh Miller officiating. Interment will immediately follow in Sunset Memorial Park.
The family would also like to request that contributions be made to the Allegany County Animal Shelter, 716 Furnace Street, Cumberland, MD 21502.
