Cumberland – Bonnie Maria Wright, 74, of Bowman's Addition, Cumberland, passed away peacefully at home under the care of her family on Thursday, May 2, 2024.

Bonnie was born October 6, 1949 to the late Billie Jean and George Griffin in Ft Meade, MD. In addition to her parents, Bonnie is preceded in death by her siblings, Anne Creamer, Frank Griffin Sr. and Mike Griffin Sr.

She was a 1968 graduate of Allegany High School.

Bonnie married her teenage sweetheart, Raymond Allen Wright Sr., on February 21, 1969 and they recently celebrated their 55 anniversary.

She worked as a dedicated and loving CNA at Golden Living Center for 30 years. She was a member of local skill pool and shuffle bowl teams in years past and a member of the Cumberland Democrat Club. Her last few years she cherished spending time with her loving family and friends. She was a loving wife, mother, Mimi and friend and never hesitated to lend a hand or give her last cent to anyone in need.

Along with her husband she is survived by her children, Raymond Wright Jr. (Tracy) of Wheeling, WV, Glen Wright of Cumberland and Terena Messick (Charlie) of Cumberland; her grandchildren, Kayla Messick (Brandon) of Ridgeley, WV, Jade Cole (Jordan) of Morgantown, WV, Chase Messick (Sophia) of Charleston, WV, Elijah & Addison Wright of Wheeling, WV, Kobi Wright of Cumberland, MD, and great-grandson, Jayce Cole.

Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Avenue, Cumberland on Friday, May 3, 2024 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2024 at 12:00 p.m. with Reverend Bruce McBride officiating. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service.

Interment will be Restlawn Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Charlie and Chase Messick, Elijah Wright, Jordan Cole, Brandon Love and George Creamer.
