Born March 14, 1965 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Cumberland, Maryland. She graduated from Mount Savage High School. Brenda spent her life dedicated to her family. As a devoted stay-at-home mom, her greatest joy came from raising her children and caring for those she loved. Her memory will be forever cherished by her three daughters, Lourean Porter (and significant other Rick Shook), Rosanna Wyse (and husband Michael Wyse Jr.), and Laurie Russell (and significant other Scott Lease Jr.). She also leaves behind a special daughter-in-law, Jordan Porter. Brenda was the adoring grandmother of eight grandchildren who loved her very much: Gary Smith Jr., Dalton Andes, Ottis Russell, Arya Porter, Abigale Wyse, Malachi Porter, Charlotte Goss, and Elias Porter. She is also survived by her sister, Clara J. Merica (and husband Rick); her brothers, Howard Martin (and wife Patty) and Patrick Martin; and a special nephew, Francis Martin, along with many extended family members and friends.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, May 23rd beginning 2:00pm at the Freedom Christian Church, 936 Winifred Rd, Cumberland, MD 21502 and a dinner will follow.
