Cumberland, MD – Brenda Joyce Shewbridge, 80, passed away Monday, July 3, 2023.

Born August 8, 1942, she was the daughter of Wilson (Raymond) and Pauline (Wagner) Frantz of Cumberland, MD.

Brenda married the love of her life, Robert William Shewbridge, and was happily married until his passing in 1999.

She is survived by her two sons Robert William Shewbridge, Jr. and Blaine Raymond Shewbridge, and wife, Donna Shewbridge; grandchildren, Ryan Scott Shewbridge and Rylie Elizabeth Shewbridge; and their partners, Brooke Hill and Mike Kee. She was delighted to welcome her first great-grandchild Alice Quinn Shewbridge into the family in March 2023.

Brenda worked at First United National Bank and Shamrock Trucking Company until her retirement. She was a member of Davis Memorial United Methodist Church and a Fort Hill High School graduate. She was an avid Fort Hill Football Fan and adored her two furry grand cats, Ash and Mage.

Friends and family will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, 108 Virginia Ave, Cumberland, MD 21502, on Friday, July 7, 2023, from 11:00 a.m. till 1:00 p.m., followed by a funeral service officiated by Pastor Rob Pearson.

All are welcome to join the family immediately following the viewing and ceremony at Davis Memorial United Methodist Church, 14300 Uhl Hwy SE, Cumberland, MD 21502. Details for the burial service will follow.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Allegany County Animal Shelter in honor of Brenda Shewbridge.
