Brian Andrew Sweitzer, 40, of Cumberland passed away October 18, 2023 at his father's home.

He was born March 13, 1983, in Columbia, MD, to Thomas Joe Sweitzer and Janet Lee Presnell.

Brian attended Allegany High School and went on to work for FEMA with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. He was an avid hunter and loved fishing.

In addition to his parents Brian is survived by his son, Landon Sweitzer and his daughter, Rowan Sweitzer; siblings, Greg Goss and wife Tina, Staci Goss, and Chris Sweitzer and wife Tiffany; grandmother, Wanda Sweitzer; step-mother Pauline Sweitzer; step-father, Jon Presnell; and a large extended family with numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles. He was predeceased by maternal grandparents, Clyde and Lillian Dennis; and paternal grandfather, Thomas R. Sweitzer.

In accordance with his wishes, he will be cremated.

Visitation will be Monday, October 23, 2023, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 15205 McMullen Hwy, Cresaptown, MD. A memorial service will immediately follow at 8:00 p.m. with Pastor Charlie Riggleman officiating.

In lieu of flowers, contributions are to be directed to Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A. to assist in offsetting funeral expenses. They may be mailed to 108 Virginia Avenue, Cumberland, MD 21502.
