Obituary

CUMBERLAND Carol Jean (McCullough) Clise, 75, of Cumberland, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, January 7, 2017, at the Western Maryland Health System Regional Medical Center.Born in Cumberland, MD on November 15, 1941, she was the daughter of the late William H. and Ermelinda "Lena" (Divico) McCullough.Carol was a graduate of St. Mary's High School, class of 1959, and she was an EKG Technician at Memorial Hospital until her retirement in 2009.Carol dedicated her life to her family. She single-handedly worked very hard to raise her children. Through her resilience, work ethic, and values, she molded her children and grandchildren into the people they have become. She was loved by everyone she met, and was a best friend to many. Carol was a mother and "Ma" to her children, grandchildren, and their friends. She will be sadly missed by all who loved her.In her free time, she was a supporter of her children's and grandchildren's activities. She would attend their sporting, band, and academic events. Carol was their number one fan. She was an avid fan of Fort Hill High School and the University of Maryland.Carol is survived by six children; Eddie Padfield and wife Kelly, Barrelsville, Brenda Lucas and Kenny McKenizie, Frostburg, Debbie Clise (LTC-Ret, U.S. Army), Gathersburg, Robbie Clise, Washington, DC, Krista Stevens and husband Pat, Cumberland, Michelle Clise and Emily Middlekauff, Gathersburg; grandchildren, Mark and wife Danielle, Crystal and husband Nick, Matthew and wife Stephanie, Amber, Nathan and Jessica, Nicole and husband Eric, Zach and wife Angela, Allie and Cody, Abbie and Yadi; great-grandchildren, Savannah, Kaydrian, Chance, Karsen, Zachary, Chloie, Mattie, Oakley, Landon, Logan, Larkin, and Emma; brothers, Billy McCullough and wife Sandy, Ohio, John McCullough and wife Vickie, Wiley Ford; sisters, Vickie Hess Cumberland, and Susie Pryor and husband Keith, Cumberland; as well as numerous loving cousins, nieces and nephews. Carol also leaves behind her dogs and best friends, Barkley and Randy.In accordance with Carol's wishes, she will be cremated.Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Avenue, Cumberland, on Monday, January 9, 2017, from 6-9 P.M.Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at 11 A.M.Condolences for the family may be left at www.ScarpelliFH.com
