Carolyn Sue Crites-Jones, 79, of Cumberland went home to be with the Lord on February 4, 2025, at the Cumberland Healthcare Center.

She was born November 19, 1945, in Cumberland to the late Charles Lester and Clara Bell Hite. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband D. Rick Crites; second husband, Clarence E. "Spike" Jones; and a nephew, Eric M. Shaffer.

Carolyn graduate from Allegany High School. She was an Instructional Assistant for the Allegany County Board of Education, and worked at Penn. Ave School, South Penn Elementary School, Fort Hill High School, and Gephart Elementary School.

Surviving are her children, Tiffany S. Mock and husband Dave, Charles Ricky Crites, and Jennifer Kominsky; grandchildren, Hailey Mock and fiancé Dylan Clay, Craig Crites, Katelyn Yoder and husband Jason; great granddaughters, Vivian and Victoria Yoder; her sister, Judy Hite Shaffer and husband Mike; sister-in-law, Sheila Roxan Colangelo and husband Rick; brother-in-law, Dale Crites and wife Dana; wonderful longtime friends, Linda Geiger, Carol Smith, Terry Friend, and Anne Louk; and a large extended family including numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Visitation will be Sunday, February 9th from 1 to 3:00 p.m. at Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A. 108 Virginia Ave, Cumberland. A funeral service will immediately follow with Rev. Tomislav Dosch officiating.

The family would like to thank the staff of Cumberland Healthcare Center for all of their compassion, laughs, and respect; but especially for loving our mother. We wouldn't have our mother anyplace else.
