RAWLINGS, MD Catherine Amelia (Sgaggero) Nicolato, 91, of Rawlings, passed away on Monday, May 28, 2018 at the Egle Nursing and Rehab Center.Born August 21, 1926, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Frank Sgaggero and Lena "Ina" Sgaggero. She was also preceded in death by one sister, Elda Smith, Augusta, WV; and brother, Vito Sgaggero.Mrs. Nicolato was employed at Rawlings Rubber Co. in Pawling, NY, and the Kelly Springfield Tire Company. She was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church.Catherine was a dedicated and loving wife, mother, and grandmother, and raised her five children to have high morals and character, grounded in family and in the Catholic faith. She gave of herself without measure to her family, friends, and church. She passed on her love of gardening and beautiful flowers to her children and grandchildren.She is survived by her husband, Albino Joseph Nicolato, Jr.; four daughters, Agatha Langan and husband Edward, Cary, NC; (Alberta) Kathryn Nicolato, Hagerstown; Cindy Hock and husband Joseph, Frederick, MD and Lena Giugliano and husband Edward, Cumberland; one son, Joseph Nicolato (Commander US Navy, RET) and wife Jamie, Virginia Beach, Va.; one sister, Matilda Wilhelm and husband Ray, Avilton, MD; two brothers, Yemo Sgaggero, Frostburg, and Frank Sgaggero and wife Mary, Barton; seven grandchildren, Michelle Watts, Hagerstown; Michael Mongelli, Middletown; Marcia Langan, Raleigh, NC.; Andrew Langan, Cary, NC.; Ava Giugliano, Winston Salem, NC; Philip Giugliano, Thomasville, AL, and Josie Nicolato, Virginia Beach, Va.; six great-grandchildren, Jase and Jesse Mongelli, Ian, Avery, and Owen Watts, and Lillian Langan.Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 15205 McMullen Hwy SW, Cresaptown, on Thursday, May 31, 2018 from 5 to 8 p.m.Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, 14923 Winchester Rd SW, Cumberland, on Friday, June 1 at 10 a.m. with Fr.
