Charlene Sara (Stafford) VanMeter, 77, passed away on August 11, 2026, at UPMC-Western Maryland Hospital.

Born December 21, 1948, Charlene was the daughter of the late Woodrow W. and Sarah E. Stafford. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her brother, Ronald Stafford.

Charlene graduated from Oldtown High school in 1966. She went on to become a Dietary Aide at Allegany County Nursing Health and Rehabilitation Center for 10 years. Some of her favorite things were cats, watching scary movies, and making different arts and crafts projects. Above all else, Charlene was known for her faith. She was a member of the congregation at Highland Baptist Church.

Charlene is survived by her two daughters, Becky Rounds and Stacey McIntosh (Mike). In addition to her daughters, she is also survived by her grandchildren, Casey Townsend (Barry), Nathan Young, Joshua Young, and Mikey Rounds; and her sister, Shirley Marvin.

A visitation will be held on August 22nd, from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm at Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave, Cumberland. A funeral service will begin at 1:00 pm and interment will be private.
