FORT ASHBY, WV – Charles Thomas "Charlie" Shank, 7, of Fort Ashby, WV, passed away Tuesday, August 8, 2023.

Born April 12, 2016, in Cumberland, he was the son of Kyle R. and Brittany N. (Apple) Shank.

Charlie was preceded in death by maternal grandfather, Patrick Duckworth; paternal grandfather, Nathan Castleman; maternal great-grandparents, Vernon and Wilma Apple; paternal great-grandfathers, Robert Shank and Robert McCullough.

Charlie would have been a second grader at Fort Ashby Primary School this year. He attended Radiant Life Full Gospel Church. He loved elephants, cars, dinosaurs, and superheroes. Charlie loved everyone, and going outside to play and spending time with his many friends were his favorite pastimes. He was kind and caring with a beautiful soul.

Surviving, in addition to his parents, are sister, Emma Shank; maternal grandmother, Sue Apple; paternal grandmother, Lisa Castleman; paternal grandparents, Lindy and Carol Shank; paternal great-grandmothers, Virginia Shank and Charlotte McCullough; maternal great-uncle, Tom Apple; paternal great-uncles, Jerry Shank and Todd Shank; paternal great-aunt, Barbara Biser; uncles and aunts, Derek Shank and wife Samantha, Madison Shank, CJ Johnson and wife Jaci, Catina Femi, Marie and Kevin Beck, Carla Duckworth, and Teresa Beach; several cousins; beloved pets, dog, Augie, and guinea pig, Skittles.

Friends will be received Sunday, September 17  from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A. 108 Virginia Ave, Cumberland. A memorial service will immediately follow at 3 p.m. with Rev. Michelle White officiating.
