Christopher Thomas Dodrill, 49, of Ridgeley,WV passed away on November 18, 2024 at UPMC-Western MD.

Born September 25, 1975 he was the son of Timothy Dodrill of Lititz, PA and Larry and Carolyn (Dawson) Weigle of Ridgeley. Chris is also survived by his devoted siblings: Mindy Bradshaw (Bill), Timothy "Timmy" Dodrill (Steph), Jennifer Lehman, Keirsten Santiago (Ramon) and Kathryn "Kassie" Saville. Aunts and Uncles: Kathy Dawson, Polly Burkett (Donnie), Woody Dodrill (Ellen), Dave Dodrill, Debbie Headley (Tom) and Great Aunt Patricia Bennett. Extended family: Dawn Smith, John Henderson (Carol), Daniel Weigle, Rick Weigle (Ed), Lyndia Main and Beth White (Rick). Numerous loving cousins, nieces and nephews, Chosen family for over forty years: Rob and Angie Ackerman, Tiffany, Katrina, Robbie and Brittany.

Chris was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents William and Mary "Jack" Dawson who was "his person", Arthur and Blanche (Bootman) Dodrill, and his bonus grandparents Larry and Belle Weigle. Uncle Robert Dodrill, Aunt Joann (Skidmore)Dodrill. Last but definitely not least, Chris was preceded in death by the great love of his life Peter Christensen.

Chris touched so many lives while he was here which was evident by his many many friends. He loved with his whole heart, hugged with all of his might and shined his light everywhere he went.

Chris graduated from Frankfort High School H.S. In 1993. He was a server at "When Pigs Fly" for 14 years, he worked at Spectrum, Ray of Hope and most recently "Arc of Frederick County".

His passion in life was his music. He was lead singer in "Uncle Fester" and continued his passion by getting up on stage every chance he got. He rocked at it.

But as much as he loved his music, his family and tons of friends, he loved Peter Christensen the most. Chris relocated to Martinsburg,WV to spend the rest of his life with Peter, their two cats and three dogs. Unfortunately things didn't go as planned. On August 3, of this year a horrific automobile accident took Peter's life immediately and then Chris's three and a half months later. Chris suffered a Traumatic Brain Injury and fought with all of his might- was showing great progress at Devlin Manor but his life was cut way too short. Although his suffering has ended he leaves behind those of us who will always have a void in our lives. But as we all will shed a million tears because we love him and will always miss him, we should remember that he found his one true love, he lived life as he wanted and in the end he found his perfect peace.

Chris's family wish to extend our deepest gratitude to Ruby Memorial at WVU, Select Specialty Hospital, and the staff at Devlin Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Chris progressed so much in the three short weeks at Devlin Manor giving his loved ones great hope for his future. Thank you for giving us that.

We ask that you join us for not only a Memorial Service but also a Celebration of Chris's life on Saturday, December 7 at 1:00pm at the Short Gap VFD with Rev. Martha Ognibene officiating.

We are giving Chris's friends and family the opportunity to bring an ornament to place on the Christmas tree to honor his favorite Holiday. Chris loved all things Christmas.
