Damon Tyler Metz, 31, of Cumberland, MD, passed away unexpectedly on January 8, 2026 at his residence.

Born November 25, 1994, in Keyser, WV he was the son of James Wesley "Wes" Metz and the late Carol Ann (West) Metz. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by paternal grandfather, James Metz and paternal step-grandfather, James Watson.

Damon attended UTI Technical school in Philadelphia, PA and after graduation became a mechanic and owner operator of Metz Towing,a roll back service.

Damon enjoyed working on cars, drag racing, skate boarding, listening to music, being around friends, enjoying the outdoors, but mostly he loved spending time with his children. Being a Dad was the highlight of his life.

Damon is survived by his wife Gabrielle "Abby" Metz; daughter, Zeplynne Ann Metz and step-son, Kash Daniel Weaver; father, James Wesley "Wes" Metz; siblings, Victoria "Tori" Metz, Cameron Metz and Cullen Metz; Aunt, Kathy Rivers (John); Uncle, Jeff Metz; Grandmother, Mary (Francie) F. Watson and a host of beloved cousins.

In accordance with his wishes, he will be cremated and a celebration of life will be held January 31 2026 at the Bowling Green Fire Hall 12420 McMullen Hwy SW, Cumberland MD 21502 at 2 pm.

To honor Damon's life, the family asks that donations be made in his name to Scarpelli Funeral Home in lieu of flowers.
