CUMBERLAND David E. Morris, 79, of Cumberland, passed away at home suddenly on Friday, March 16, 2018.David was born on September 25, 1938, in Independence, WV. He was the son of the late Samuel and Georgia Morris. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Rosemary (Corley) Morris; and a brother, Ronald Morris; and brother-in-law, Ray Meadows.Surviving are his son, Michael Morris and wife Linda, FL; daughter, Kimberly Fram and husband Guy, Cresaptown; sisters, Sharon Meadows, Shady Spring, WV, Judith Bland and husband Larry, FL, Thelma Morris, Ridgeley WV.; nephew Kenneth Meadows and wife Ann, Shady Spring WV; brothers-in-law Mark Corley, Cumberland Jerry Corley and wife Shirley, Cumberland; several cousins.David was a United States Navy Veteran. He retired from the Allegany County Board of Education. He was a lifetime member of the Cumberland Outdoor Club and a member of the Democrat Club. His favorite thing to do was work. He always had a project or was thinking of one to do. Dad could fix just about anything and always was eager to give a helping hand to anyone. When he wasn't working, his other passions were deer hunting and fishing. He loved to be outdoors!Dad wasn't blessed with grandchildren but was blessed with Grandpups, Casey, Blazer, Tanner, Raven and his special "little boy" Angus, whom he loved to take for long rides. He had a special place in his heart for the kittens in his life, too Jaspher, Beth, Snow, and many others.The family would like to give a special thank you to neighbors, Russell and Sue Puffenbarger. We appreciate what you did for Dad, keeping an eye on him in the past weeks, and the friendship you both gave to him. We would also like to thank Walter and Maryann Welsh for the friendship they have given to Dad over the years. Dad looked forward to the Christmas cookies each year and all the other goodies you gave to him.Many of the world's problems were solved among Dad, Mark, Rusty, and Walt in their many hours of conversation while being outside, just like Dad liked it.Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A. is entrusted with arrangements.
