David Joseph
Twigg
May 22, 1968 — Jan 8, 2024
David Joseph Twigg, 55, of Olanta, husband of Jeanne V. Twigg, passed away Monday, January 8, 2024, at Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital.
David was born on May 22, 1968, in Baltimore, MD, son of Barbara "Becky" Rice Twigg and the late Lewis P. Twigg. He was a 1986 graduate of Fort Hill High School. David was a skilled motorcycle fabricator of custom motorcycles that sold internationally.
David was a family man and the grandfather of four wonderful and exceptional grandchildren that he adored and admired. He loved to show off his pictures and brag of them to his friends, whenever possible. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle when his health permitted. He and his wife, Jeanne, would travel throughout the east Coast attending various bike events.
David was a member of the Florence Warlock Motorcycle Club, and he loved his brothers unconditionally. Many of his friends refereed to him as "Twigg" and was known throughout the East coast as a great brother. He worked locally as a Harley Mechanic. David was an organ donor, who wanted very much to give others a new chance in life, especially his eyes (in honor of his mother). He will be forever missed.
Surviving are his wife of 28 years, his sweet Jeanne VanMeter Twigg, of Olanta; mother, Barbara "Becky" Twigg of Cumberland, MD; brother, Timothy (Wanda) Twigg of Prince Frederick, MD; stepsons, William VanMeter (Danielle Evans) of Cresaptown, MD; Buddy (Denise) VanMeter of Short Gap, WV; and Marcius VanMeter (Rhiannon Holler) of Bowling Green, MD; grandchildren, Cole Holler of Pemberton, NJ; Jacob VanMeter of Cresaptown, MD; Taylor VanMeter of Short Gap, WV; and Morgan VanMeter of Bowling Green, MD; a very special aunt, Mary Rice of Cumberland, MD; and other extended family and friends.
David was preceded in death recently in 2022 by his father, Lewis P. Twigg.
Friends and family will be received Saturday, January 20, 2024, at Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A. 108 Virginia Ave, Cumberland, MD, from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. A celebration of life will immediately follow at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Rob Pierson officiating.
