BURLESON, TX – David Michael "Foose" Wakefoose, 66, of Burleson, TX, passed away July 11, 2024 at home in Cumberland, MD, surrounded by family and friends. Dave fought his illness relentlessly for the past two years.

Born September 16, 1957, in Cumberland, he was the son of Nancy Wakefoose and the late Dale Wakefoose. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Steve Wakefoose.

Dave attended school at St. Mary's and later graduated from Bishop Walsh in 1976. He moved to Texas in the early 1980s and eventually retired from DNS Polymers in Mansfield, TX, where he had worked as a supervisor in transportation.

Dave and his partner, Sheree, enjoyed going to festivals, especially the Crawfish Festival in Beau Bridge, Louisiana, along with his friends. He also loved riding his motorcycle.

He leaves behind his mother, Nancy Wakefoose; sister, Karon Price and husband Scott; brother, Danny Wakefoose and wife Sandi; nieces, Jessi Price and husband Bradley, and Sarah Hosselroad and husband Adam; nephews, Nick Price and Joel Wakefoose; and partner, Sheree Holland.

Dave was blessed to have so many special friends in Texas and Cumberland. Special thanks to the Southend Gang.

Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Avenue, Cumberland, on Tuesday, July 16, 2024 from 4 to 7pm.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 300 E Oldtown Rd, Cumberland, MD, on Wednesday, July 17 at 10am.

Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park.
