Obituary

Deborah Jane Ansell (Weaver), 77, of Salisbury, PA, passed away on August 02, 2025 at Meadow View Nursing Center.

Born January 11, 1948, in Cumberland, MD, she was the daughter of the late Raymond Weaver and Angela (Uphold) Weaver. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers Walter and Ronald Weaver.

Deborah received her Associate's Degree in nursing from Allegany Community College and worked as a Registered Nurse. Prior to her nursing career, she worked as a nurse's aide and a unit secretary. She worked for various healthcare agencies including UPMC Western MD (formerly Sacred Heart Hospital), Somerset Hospital as well as various home health and dialysis agencies.

Deborah was a woman of deep faith and was active with the Assembly of God Church. She was well known to be a dedicated Prayer Warrior.

She was also an avid reader and musically talented; playing the piano, organ and accordion. Deborah also enjoyed playing games with her family and friends.

Deborah is survived by her husband of over 33 years, Theodore Ansell; her daughters, Amber Messick (Richard) and Tracey Verno (David); and her step-children, Gary and Amanda Ansell. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Angela Pritts (Nathan), Trae Miller, Amelia Crosco (Eric), Nicholas Miller, Serenity Sands (Richard), Destiny Miller, Jacob Verno, and Aaron Verno; great-grandchildren, Jaedyn Kaiser, Harper and Hannah Pritts, Bellamy and Gabriel Crosco, and Haven Sands; and her sister, Regina Weiss.

Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Avenue, Cumberland on Thursday, August 07, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.. A funeral service will follow at 1 p.m officiated by Pastor Kathy Hay.

Interment will be in Davis Memorial Cemetery.

The family would like to thank the dedicated caregivers at both Family Hospice and Meadow View Nursing Center for their care and support.
