Obituary

Short Gap—Debra A. "Debbie" Fisher, 64, of Short Gap, WV, passed away on Tuesday, August 10, 2021. Born in Cumberland, MD, on April 15, 1957, she was the daughter of the late Robert L. and Doris (Stevenson) Hendershot. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Rodney Hendershot, and Robert Hendershot. Debbie was a graduate of Allegany High School, class of 1975. She was married to her husband of 46 years, Martin L. Fisher. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. At the church, Debbie was a member of the Women's Relief Society, and she was called to the Primary Organization and the Young Women's Association. Debbie enjoyed scrapbooking, ceramics, and doing all kinds of crafts. Most of all, she was devoted to her family, especially her grandchildren. Debbie and Martin enjoyed traveling and shopping with their family. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Brandii L. Hargarther and husband, David, Ryan C. Fisher, Justin S. Fisher and wife, Honey, Jamie N. Hall, and Jessica L. Blizzard and Travis Snyder; grandchildren, Brittany and husband, Brandon, Kaitlyn, Kendrick, Ani, Tyler, Abby, Kayla, Dylan, Aubry, Ashlyn, and Lydia; great-grandchildren, Bentley, Brynleigh, and Bradley; brother, Michael Hendershot and wife, Barbara; sisters, Virginia Townsend and husband, Billie, and Darla Shaw and husband, Aaron. Debbie is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins. Friends will be received on Monday, August 23, 2021 at the LaVale Chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from 1-2 P.M. A funeral service will be conducted following the visitation at 2 P.M. Please be advised that all attendees are required to wear a mask. Burial will take place in Mt. Hermon Cemetery. In lieu of sending flowers, those wishing to honor Debbie's memory may do so by making contributions toward her funeral expenses at Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Avenue, Cumberland, MD 21502.
