Debra Kaye Spinnenweber, 64, of Cumberland, passed away Monday, December 16, 2019, at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center. Born June 8, 1955, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of Richard O. and Gloria O. (Wilson) Springer. Debbie was preceded in death by her son, Brian P. Spinnenweber, in 2007. Debbie was a 1973 graduate of Fort Hill High School and was drum major her senior year. She then graduated from West Virginia University in 1977 with a Bachelor of Science degree in interior design. While attending West Virginia University, she belonged to the Kappa Delta sorority. She became vice president of General Graphics, Inc., a company founded by her father in 1964, and worked there with her husband from 1983 until the early summer of 2019. She was an active member of the Greater Federation of Women's Clubs, serving as an officer on state, district, and local levels. She devoted much of her life to Civic Club activities. Debbie was also a member, along with her husband, of the Deep Creek Yacht Club, and she was an avid reader. Surviving, in addition to her parents, are her husband, Bruce P. Spinnenweber; daughter, Lauren K. McCready and husband, Miles, Little Elm, TX; sister, Karen Muccioli and husband, Geri, Bel Air, MD; brother, Richard Springer, Jr. and wife, Nancy, Butler, PA. In accordance with her wishes, Debbie's body will be cremated. Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 15205 McMullen Hwy SW, Cresaptown, on Friday, January 10, 2020, from 9:30 – 11:00 a.m. A memorial service will immediately follow at 11 a.m. with Debbie's cousin, Pastor Larry Michael, officiating. Inurnment will be in Sunset Memorial Park, with her son, at a later date.
