Deirdre Joyce
Boone
Jul 29, 1936 — Sep 14, 2023
Deirdre Joyce (Wilson) Boone, 87, formerly of Cumberland, MD, passed away peacefully at her home, Thursday, September 14, 2023.
Born July 29, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Oscar S. and Reta (Bartlett) Wilson of Cumberland, MD. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Melvin Boone, and her 2 brothers, Dennis (IL) and Jack (MD) Wilson.
Deirdre is survived by her sons, Greg (Marsha) Boone and Troy (Dawn) Boone, 6 grandchildren (Carrington, Mariah, Lauren, Ethan, Graham, Gabriel) and 5 great-grandchildren (Noah, Ezra, Ziah, Jaxon, Sonny) all of whom she loved with her whole heart and they all loved spending time with her.
Deirdre was a devoted wife, loving Mother/Mother-in-law and a caring & loving Grandmother and Great-Grandmother.
She was a true prayer warrior and she frequently stated that she'd be standing in prayer for us no matter what needs we had or difficulties in life we'd face, we knew she would be praying for us.
Most of all, Deirdre loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and her legacy of her love for God continues on with her family. She would want nothing more than those reading these words to know her Savior, Jesus Christ and to have a personal relationship with Him as she did.
Thank you Mom, Grandma and GiGi for loving us unconditionally even when we messed up and failed, leading and instructing us to always focus on Jesus no matter what, and encouraging us to be our best no matter the situation.
We honor you as a woman of faith, who loved God, read His word and did her absolute very best to model for her family, a Christ-like life. Rejoice in the legacy of faith you leave behind, rejoice in knowing we watched and learned from you and Dad how to love and serve the one who gave His all. We are all grateful for the Godly example you portrayed as we now try our best to model to our families for generations to come.
We love you Mom, Grandma and GiGi! You will be greatly missed in our lives on this earth, but we rejoice and take comfort in knowing that we will one day see you again as you are now enjoying a full-abundant life in heaven with your Heavenly Father.
Well done Mom, well done a great and faithful servant-you have finished the race, you fought hard…now enter into His gates with thanksgiving and into His courts with praise!
