Diana Lynn Stieringer passed from this life to her eternal home on October 31, 2023, undoubtedly joining the angel chorus as soon as she arrived.

She was preceded in death by her father, Roger G. Wotring and her grandparents, Roger F. and Bernice Wotring and Ezra and Loretta Higgs.

Diana, born to Roger G. and Betty Wotring (Higgs) on June 20, 1956, was the sweetest and most loving person whose life reflected the love of Jesus to those around her. Growing up in and becoming a member of Cresaptown United Methodist Church built a firm foundation of faith that marked Diana all of her life. It was clear to those lucky to know her that Jesus was most important and was a prayer warrior for many. Diana had a great love for angels and collected many. She loved gospel music and singing with joy.

She was a stranger to no one as she loved to chat with those around her and showed great interest in the details of the lives of her family and friends. Diane was known by many for her love of celebrating each holiday with a full outfit, complete with a hat or headband suited for the occasion. She was a member of the Red Hat Club for many years and loved the color purple. She was very generous even with the little she had and loved to give and receive gifts, especially to her nieces and nephews, Kody, Korey, Kaitlyn, Andrew (Carlin), and Chloe.

In her adult years, she participated in the Cumberland Covenant House for adult daycare and enjoyed the activities and fun there as well as making many friends. She faithfully attended Gateway West Church and loved her church family. Worshiping and learning more about God were life giving to Diana. Her life was marked with contentment and lack of complaint over her learning and health challenges and inspired us all. Even with her learning challenges she had an impeccable memory and could remember small details or dates and often won our family Christmas trivia or naming the song type games. She would remember many details about the lives of family and friends and could be counted on to ask about them which always showed us how much she loved us. She was very affectionate and the kindest person you could ever meet. Her affection was especially deep for her beloved mother Betty Wotring and her loving siblings, Kevin, Blaine (Debbie), and Pam (Jeff) who cared for her in her last years of life.

Even despite her health challenges throughout her life, she was courageous and joyful. All of this was because of her deep love and dependence of Jesus, her Lord and Savior. We know that she is rejoicing being with Him today. While we grieve the loss of her here with us, we are overjoyed that she is fully restored and reunited with her Savior.

Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 15205 McMullen Hwy SW, Cresaptown, MD on Monday, November 6, 2023, from 11am to 1pm. A funeral service will immediately follow at 1pm with Pastor Jason Smith officiating. Interment in Hillcrest Burial Park will be private.
