Obituary

LaVale, Maryland - Dianne G. (Mallow) Shoemaker, 78, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday the 26th of October, 2025.

Dianne was born on June 24, 1947 to Cletus and Marion (Hartsock) Mallow, of LaVale.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harold "Butch" Shoemaker Sr.; a son, Harold Wesley Shoemaker Jr.; a great-grandson, James R. Washington IV, born in silence; and sister-in-law Esther Mallow.

Dianne was a graduate of Allegany High School. She furthered her education at Allegany College of Maryland with an Associate Degree in Nursing.

She was employed as a registered nurse with Memorial Hospital and retired from Western Maryland Health System after 30 years of compassionate care in the medical field. Dianne served as a first responder with LaVale Rescue Squad for nearly 50 years and served as President for the organization for a number of those years.

Dianne was a member of Prosperity United Methodist church where she enjoyed Sunday morning services with her dear brother, Cletus.

One of her greatest joys was her husband of 59 years - and family. Dianne was a present and loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. She enjoyed gardening, crafting, swinging on her porch swing, spending time with her best friend, Rita Evans, and making memories with her loved ones.

She is survived by her two sons, Kyle Shoemaker and wife, Joyce, of Oldtown, and Keith Shoemaker, of LaVale; grandchildren, Chenoa (Shoemaker) Wagoner and husband, Alden, Cherie (Shoemaker) Washington and husband, Jimmy, Cody Shoemaker and Shawna, Tylesha Shoemaker and Dustin, Tristin Shoemaker, Emilee (Shoemaker) Seigmyer and husband, Raymond; as well as ten beloved great-grandchildren and one on the way. Dianne is also survived by her brother, Cletus Mallow Jr.; niece, Amy (Mallow) Davis and husband, Jason.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
