Cumberland—Dolores Jean "Droopy" Sills, 83, of Cumberland, passed away on Wednesday, April 29, 2020, at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV.
Born in Cumberland, MD, on December 21, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Leona (Cook) Imler Morgan. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Deborah Sills; son, James R. Sills; sister, Paulette Imler- Ahern; brothers, Richard Iliff and Ronald Imler.
Droopy was a graduate of Fort Hill High School class of 1955. She had been employed at Murphy's Department Store in downtown Cumberland. Droopy was an avid reader, enjoyed feeding the birds, and loved reading the bible. She was fond of angels and enjoyed collecting them.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Ronald J. Sills, whom she married on January 4, 1958; children, Donald J. Sills and wife Nancy, and Steven W. Sills and Kim Porter; grandchildren, Shanna L. Hill, Brandan M. Sills and wife Jessica, James W. Sills, III and wife Megan, Jessi A. Sills, Maranda E. Fraley and husband Tyler, Tonya M. Sills, Rustilyn Howard, 12 great-grandchildren, Heston, Sawyer, Willow, Emily, Kathryn, Joseph, Logan, Scarlett, Miracle, Major, Avery, and Selina; daughter-in-law, Pamala Sills; sister-in-law, Linda Teaford.
At her request, Droopy will be cremated. Because of the health care crisis, there will be no formal funeral service at this time.
