CUMBERLAND Don Carl Carns, Sr., 87, of Cumberland, passed away on Monday, June 18, 2018 at his home.Born on July 22, 1930, he was the son of the late Carl Thomas and Grace Mary (Rowe) Carns. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, JoAnn Miller Carns; sisters, Marion Gordon, and Betty Carns; sons-in-law, and Jeffrey Michael and Gerard Lee.Don was a 1949 graduate of Fort Hill High School. He retired from PPG Industries, and was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp. Don was a lifelong Orioles fan, and was a member of Prosperity United Methodist Church.He is survived by his children, Don Carl Carns, Jr. (Elaine), Bruce Carns, Sharon Michael-Perry (Gerald), and Joan Carns Buck; grandchildren, Tina Snellenberger (Roy), Joseph Michael (Heidi), Christina Sisler (Christopher), Jason Carns (fianc Vanessa), Ben Lee (Crystal), Carrie Davis (Paul), Jessica Bridges (Andy), Emily Sanborn, and Lacie Sanborn; great-grandchildren, Dimitri and Zarian Anderson, Angelia (Dakota) White, Angelia (Jacob) Spohrer, Andrea and Jillian Anderson, Quinton and Zoey Sisler, Baleigh Davis, Reese and Roxy Michael, Isabella and Sydney Bridges, and Isabella and Vincent Lee; and great-great-grandchildren, Lilliana and Eliza White, and baby Ezra Ryker Spohrer, due in 2018.Family and friends will be received at Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Avenue, Cumberland, on Friday, June 22, 2018, from 5 to 8 p.m.A funeral service will be conducted at Prosperity United Methodist Church, 13505 Pleasant Valley Road NE, Flintstone, MD, on Saturday, June 23, 2018 at 11 a.m.Interment will be in Prosperity United Methodist Church Cemetery.Condolences for the family may be left at www.ScarpelliFH.com
