CUMBERLAND – Donald Edward Broome, 75, of Cumberland, passed away Saturday, December 19, 2020, at UPMC Western Maryland.
Born January 12, 1945, in Cumberland, he was the son of the late Lawrence H. and Virginia L. (McDonald) Broome. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant sister, Loretta Jean Broome; two buddies, dogs, Kori and Tucker.
Donald was a 1962 graduate of Fort Hill High School. He served his country in the United States Air Force and went on to drive a fork lift truck at Kelly Springfield. He was past president and lifelong member of the Bowling Green Fire Department. He was also past president of the Allegany and Garrett County Fireman's Association. In his free time, he enjoyed frequenting flea markets and yardsales.
Donald leaves behind his wife of 52 years, Martha L. (Wilson) Broome; children, Keith E. Broome and partner, Ben Osten, and Marci A. Growden and husband, Jody; one sister, Sandra Mallery; one granddaughter, Emma R. Growden; many nieces and nephews; and special buddy, dog, Toby.
Interment will be private in Restlawn Memorial Gardens.
