Donald "Ken" Kenneth Squires, Jr., 62, of Cumberland, MD passed away peacefully after a hard fought battle with cancer on August 25, 2025 at UPMC Western Maryland.

Born January 12, 1963 in Cumberland he was the son of Donald K. Squires, Sr. and the late Donna Virginia (Martin) Squires.

He graduated from Fort Hill High School in 1981, and then moved to California for a seventeen year career with Rocketdyne working on NASA Space Shuttle engines. Then moved back to Cumberland where he was a HVAC mechanical extraordinaire for the family business.

Ken loved his motorcycles, and had many hobbies he was a master of tinkering around; he made knives, built boats, and many other things. There was nothing he couldn't fix or build. He was always able to help anyone one. He made friends all across the country, and there was no one he wouldn't help out.

Surviving is his wife of 37 years, Brenda Kay Squires; daughter, Natasha Marie Groves; two sons, Donald K. Squires III and Jerrett Martin Squires; grandchildren, Aidan Mattingly, Donald K. Squires IV, Audrey Mattingly, and Serenity Squires; special daughter in law, Priscilla Stemple; siblings, Dina Michael (Steve), David Squires (Carol), and Daniel Squires (Tabrina); and a large extended family with many nieces, nephews, and friends.

In accordance with his wishes he will be cremated.

A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, September 20, 2025 at the Crossroads Sportsman Club, 12516 Naves Cross Rd NE, Cumberland, from 2:00 pm until 6:00 pm.
