Flintstone, MD-Donald Bradley May, 63, of Flintstone, MD, went home to be with the Lord on Friday July 25, 2025 at Meadow View Nursing Center, of Berlin, PA.
Born September 4, 1961, in Cumberland, MD, he was the son of Ronald Leo May and Donna Fay (Imes) May, of Flintstone, MD.
Donald was preceded in death by his son, Daniel Aaron May, of Everett, PA.
Donald was a 1981 graduate of Flintstone High School. He worked as a heavy equipment operator for the International Union of Operating Engineers-Local 37 for 33 years.
He was a member of the Cumberland Outdoor Club and was affiliated with the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Cresaptown, MD branch. Donald enjoyed camping, boating at Lake Raystown, attending and watching Nascar racing on Sunday afternoons with family and friends. He thoroughly enjoyed mudbogging, vacations at the beach and all things related to the mechanics of cars and trucks alike. Most importantly, he loved his Savior Jesus Christ and his family with all he had. He was hard working and always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone that came across his path. Donald loved to be around people and never knew a stranger. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his daughter, Vanessa Whysong and husband Greg, of Fishertown, PA; along with his grandchildren, Ethan Whysong and wife, Alexa, of Osterburg, PA, Brielle and Dylan Whysong, of Fishertown, PA; his sister, Rhonda Twigg and husband, Alec; nephews, Bradley Mullenax and wife, Katrina, and Tyler Twigg, all of Flintstone, MD. Donald also has two loving aunts, many close cousins, a great niece and two great nephews.
Along with Donald's immediate family is Sherrie Dever, of Frostburg, MD, who was his loving and devoted life companion.
Family and friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., located at 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland MD., on Saturday, August 9, 2025 from 10am to 12pm with a memorial service to follow immediately thereafter with Pastor Shannon Rust officiating.
