Cumberland – Donald Fredrick "Whitey" White, Sr., 73, of Cumberland passed away on Wednesday, December 6, 2023, at UPMC Western Maryland.

Born in Cumberland, MD on August 30, 1950, he was the son of the late Fleurette Barger. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his grandmother, and his sister, Joan Barger.

A graduate of Allegany High School class of 1968, he was employed by the Schmit Bakery and the Apex Corporation in Winchester, VA. Whitey was a proud member of AA for 25 years.

He is survived by his life partner, Vicki Frazier; son, Donald F. White, Jr.; step-son, Leland Shanholtz; brother, David LaPettie and wife Dee Dee; and sister, Sheila Riley; granddaughter who was the light of his life, Danielle McFadden.

At his request, Whitey will be cremated.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
