RIDGELEY, WV – Donna R. Hitt, 87, of Ridgeley, WV, passed away Friday, September 27, 2024, at Allegany Health Nursing and Rehab.

Born May 22, 1937, in Charles Town, WV, she was a daughter of the late John S. and Alice (Jones) Rissler. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Clyde Raymond Hitt, Jr., and son, Jonathan D. Hitt.

Donna was a graduate of Charles Town High School. She went on to be a devoted wife and mother who attended Cornerstone Baptist Church regularly.

Donna lived her life to the fullest with simple pleasures. She loved her family and friends, and she loved the Lord. She enjoyed sharing with others how the Lord had changed her life. She was known for inviting people into her home for food, fellowship, and laughter. Her sweet spirit stayed with her until the very end. She left this world peacefully and is now in the arms of her Saviour.

She leaves behind her children, Beth Maddox and husband, Anthony, and Lori Hitt; sister, Carolyn Vanderhaven and husband, Gary; brothers, John H. Rissler and Ronald D. Rissler and wife, Tracey; sister-in-law, Mary Paul Rissler; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to Donna's beloved caregivers, Karen Coleman, Sonya Umstot, and Charlotte Wagoner, as well as her precious neighbors, Dave and Dorothy Shields and Danny and Faye Olinger.

Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 15205 McMullen Hwy SW, Cresaptown, on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, from 5 to 7pm.

A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday, October 2, at 11am with the Rev. David Hattenfield officiating.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Donna may be made to the Cornerstone Baptist Church, 930 Frederick St, Cumberland, MD 21502.
