Doris Catherine Day, of Cumberland, passed away at UPMC- Western Maryland on Sunday, September 10, 2023. She passed peacefully surrounded by her loving family.

She was born August 23, 1924 to the late Arch and Mary Fisher. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Day, who passed away in 1982; her brother Billy Fisher, and sisters Jean Fuse and Margaret Elliott.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Mandi Day, Frostburg MD, her daughter and son-in-law, Marcy and Ernie Harris, Fort Ashby, WV; grandchildren Jennifer Day, Cumberland, Kristyn and Tim Getz, Cumberland, Drew Waasdorp, Keyser, Colt Barker, Frostburg, Erin Ritchie and family, Huntington, WV, Patty Musser and family, Melissa Harris and family and Robert Harris and family, all of Virginia; great grandchildren Aydon, Ashton and Averex Day, and Ryleigh Waasdorp. She is also survived by a special niece, Sherry Edgerley and husband Dave of Germantown, MD.

She had been a lifelong member of St Mary's Catholic Church. Her biggest passion was playing Bingo - she loved it! As well as her Milwaukee's Best beer, and, of course, her ice cream!

A big thank you to the staff at Dawn View Nursing Home where mom has resided for many years for taking such good care and loving her like she was everyone's "Nan". And all her good friends she met at Dawn View over the years who became like family to all of us. She truly was one of a kind and will be so deeply missed.

Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A. is in charge of funeral arrangements. There will be no visitation at mom's request. A celebration of life will be scheduled at a later time.
