On Saturday, September 12, 2026, Doris Jeanne (Long) Franciosi passed away with family at her side, in Cumberland, MD, at the age of 92.

Doris was born on March 7, 1934, in Cumberland, to Robert Christian and Flora Pauline "Polly" (Sharretts) Long. She graduated from Allegany High School in 1952. Following graduation, Doris worked as a bookkeeper at Liberty Trust Bank until the birth of her first child. Later in life, she worked as a salesperson at The Bon-Ton Department Store.

On December 27, 1952, Doris married her high school sweetheart, Anthony Silvio "Tony" Franciosi. Together, they shared 68 years of marriage and raised two children, Michael and Vicki.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents, Robert, and Polly Long, her grandmother, Marie Long, who was an integral part of her upbringing and life, and her beloved husband, Tony.

She is survived by her son, Michael; daughter, Vicki; brother, Bobby Long and his wife, Debbie; niece, Sandy Long; nephews, Sam Long and his partner, Amy Everly, and Scott Long; great-nephew, Caden Long; cousin, Barb Lyons; and many other loving nieces and nephews.

Doris will be remembered with love by her family and all who knew her.

She was a life member of Centre Street United Methodist Church in Cumberland, MD, and a member of Genesis United Methodist Church in Cary, NC. She was also a member of United Methodist Women, the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary, Women's Sport Club, and Card Club. Doris spent many years volunteering at Centre Street United Methodist Church, serving as a financial counter and delivering flowers to shut-ins. After moving to North Carolina, she continued her commitment to giving back by volunteering with Genesis United Methodist Church and Triangle Beagle Rescue.

Doris enjoyed church, playing cards, bowling, bingo, board games, puzzles, shopping, beagle fundraising events, and dining out with friends and family. She was a sports fan, especially enjoying Duke basketball, Duke football, and the Baltimore Orioles. She particularly loved cheering on her Blue Devils at Cameron Indoor Stadium.

Doris's wish was to be cremated and laid to rest next to her beloved Tony. Her family is honored to fulfill that wish.
