Doris Ester (Appold) Klipstein, 84, of Rawlings, passed away on Tuesday, January 7, 2025 at UPMC - Western Maryland.

Born February 15, 1940, in Cumberland, MD, she was the daughter of the late Clyde and Ester (Appold) Appold. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Alan Judy and Wayne Jewell.

Doris attended Fort Hill High School.

She was a homemaker at heart and loved animals and plants. She ran a daycare for eight years and loved caring for children.

Doris is survived by her loving husband of 38 years, Joseph R. Klipstein; children, Debbie (Hudson) Powell and boyfriend, Jim Portmas, John Appold and wife, Millie, Don Ray Appold and wife, Fran, and Nicole Appold; stepson, Michael Klipstein; special friend, who was like a daughter, Jamie Wilson; brother, Donald Appold; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 15205 McMullen Highway SW, Cresaptown, on Tuesday, January 14, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. A funeral service will immediately follow at 12:00 p.m. with Rev. Bruce McBride and Pastor Seth Wharton officiating.

Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park.
