Dorothy Ann Speicher, 79, originally of Bel Air-Cresaptown, MD passed away Saturday, June 15, 2024 at UPMC Western Maryland.

She was born March 2, 1945 in Terra Alta, WV to the late Walter and Virginia Nine. In addition to her parents she was proceeded in death by her husband Robert Gene Speicher, and a granddaughter, Emily Crites.

Dorothy graduated from Rowlesburg High School in Preston County, WV. She had a career as a seamstress starting at Nikkis Garment in Cresaptown, then Keyser Garment, and finally at Schwab Company. Afterward she was a geriatric nurse assistant at the Lions Manor Nursing Home until her retirement. She was a member of Cresaptown United Methodist Church.

Dorothy above all else was a loving mother and wife. She loved sewing, making dolls, gardening and canning, baking apple dumplings, and caring for others.

She is survived by her children; Robert E. Speicher and wife Rita of Frederick, MD; James Speicher of Bel Air-Cresaptown, MD; Katrina Weimer and husband Todd of Grantsville, MD; grandchildren, Remington Weimer, Yemima Speicher, Ulrich Speicher, Walter Speicher; siblings, Betty Smith, Jean Owens, John Nine, William Nine, Joe Nine, and Richard Nine; many nieces and nephews; and a large extended family.

Visitation will be Friday, June 21st from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A. 15205 McMullen Hwy SW, Cresaptown. A funeral service will immediately follow beginning at 12:00 p.m. with Rev. Harold McClay officiating.

Burial will be in the Maryland Veterans Cemetery at Rocky Gap, Flintstone, MD.
