Obituary

Earlene H. Fradiska, 99, of Frostburg, passed away Thursday, May 22, 2025, at Sterling Care Frostburg Village.

Born March 16, 1926, in Cumberland, she was a daughter of the late William Earl and Hilda Catherine (Schade) Hardman. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles F. "Jim" Fradiska; brother, Charles J. Hardman; sister, M. Dorothy "Dottie" Yeager.

Earlene was a 1944 graduate of Allegany High School and went on to work as a secretary at B & O Railroad. She was also employed at Emory Motor Coach as well as in hygienic sanitation, and eventually retired from the State of Maryland Tax Office.

Blessed with a beautiful voice, Earlene sang in St. Luke's Lutheran Church's choir and was a member of the Ladybirds Barbershop Singers. As an active parishioner of St. Luke's, she served on the altar guild and as a Sunday school teacher, and was a member of WELCA. She was a woman of many interests and talents, having also belonged to a bowling league at Capitol Lanes.

Earlene is survived by her daughter, Karen Parker (Mark); son, Paul Fradiska (Cheryl); grandchildren, Melissa Bonner (Scott), Jared Fradiska (Pam), Joel Fradiska (Rebecca), Jordan Fradiska (Cierra), and Eric Parker (Teresa); great-grandchildren, Camden, Brayden, Colton, Easton, Parker, Bryson, Jake, Kylie (Denny), Jaiden, Lexi, Serenyti, Scotlyn, Isabelle, Lennon, and McKenna; and great-great-grandchildren, Rowan, Rayne, Ryder, and Rubi.

Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave, Cumberland, on Tuesday, May 27, 2025 from 5 to 7pm.

A funeral service will be conducted at St. Luke's Lutheran Church, 1601 Frederick St, Cumberland, on Wednesday, May 28 at 1pm with Rev. Lark Muncy officiating. Friends will be received at the church one hour prior to the service.

Interment will be in Hillcrest Burial Park.

The family would like to thank the staff at Sterling, especially those in the 400 hall; as well as her hairdressers, Keke and Elizabeth.
