Edward "Dick" Mills, 92 of Rawlings MD, a beloved father, grandfather, and decorated U. S. Army Korean War veteran, passed away peacefully on July 10, 2025.

Roman Mills and Flora Ketterman Mills only son, he was born on May 20, 1933, in Rawlings, MD. With a strong sense of service and duty, Edward left at the age of 17 to enlist in the United States Army. He proudly served his county during the Korean War from May 1950 to July 1953 as part of the 8th Army, 1st Calvary Division. During his service, Edward was wounded at combat and spent 40 days in a field hospital. He also endured the hardship of being a prisoner of war for two months. For his bravery and sacrifice, he was awarded the Purple Heart, Combat Infantry Badge, and three Bronze Stars. For 73 years, Edward has testified that he only survived because he believed angels were protecting him.

Edward's lifelong passion was mechanics, a trade he pursued with a strong work ethic. He owned several small businesses, including Mills Trucking and Waxler Auto, and took immense pride in supporting his family and helping those in need.

In 1953, Edward met Roselene Mills "Dorsey," and they married that same weekend. They spent 40 years building a life together and raising five children. After Roselene's passing, Edward found love and companionship later in life with Miriam Jean Mills.

Edward was preceded in death by his wives, Roselene and Miriam Mills; his children, Roger and Danny Mills; grandchildren Eric and Brandon Mills; and sisters, Carrie Miller, Kitty Parrish, Ann Evans, Ellen Armentrout, and Carol Lamp.

He is survived by his sisters, Cindy Muir and Joyce Haines. He is also survived by his children, Edward Mills Jr. and his wife Julie of Keyser, James Mills of Rawlings, and Darlene Feaster and her husband Doug of Keyser.

Edward leaves behind 14 grandchildren, Matthew Mills, Autumn Centofonti, Lori Redinger, Shawn Mills, Selina Meek, Jennifer Smith, Katrina Feaster, Kiri Proietti, Kori Mills, Nicole Mills, Mary Saville, TJ Mills, Jason Bauer, and Julie Llewellyn. He is also survived by 15 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 15205 McMullen Hwy, Cresaptown on Saturday, July 12, 2025 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. A funeral service will be immediately follow at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Donna Leatherman officiating.

Interment will be in Waxler Cemetery, Rawlings, MD. Military honors will be accorded by the American Legion Post 13 Honor Guard.
