CRESAPTOWN Edward W. Whitaker, 71, of Cresaptown, passed away on Monday, May 28, 2018, at the WMHS-Regional Medical Center.Born on August 9, 1946 in Cumberland, he was the son of the late Jerome W. and Kathleen E. (Hymes) Whitaker.Ed was a member of Friends Aware, and was one of their first clients. He enjoyed bowling, riding his bike, and Special Olympics.Surviving are his sister, Carol Johns; his brother, Bruce Whitaker and wife Regina; his uncle, Russell Hymes; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great nephews.The family will receive friends at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 15205 McMullen Highway, Cresaptown, on Sunday, June 3, 2018 from 4 to 6 p.m.A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Monday, June 4, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. with Wayne Hedrick officiating.
