FORT ASHBY – Eleanor Mae "Ellie" Knoche, 93, of Fort Ashby, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, December 5, 2022, at home surrounded by her loving family.

Born on July 27, 1929, in Wiley Ford, WV, she was the daughter of the late Casper and Susan (Bobo) Shook. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by infant son, John Knoche; all nine of her siblings; and infant great-granddaughter, Sierra Self.

Ellie started working at the age of 14, and worked for most of her life. She was a glass marker at Queen Glass Company, worked at Day's Deli, and retired from Ellie's Deli at the age of 80. She was treasurer and longtime member with the White Oaks bowling league. She enjoyed scrapbooking, gardening, and taking bus trips with her friends. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

She is survived by her children, James Knoche and wife Tina, Debra Flynn and husband Mike, Korrine Knoche and wife Brandy, and Starla Appel and husband Randy; nine grandchildren, James, Tecia, Michael, Bryan, Krista, John, Brooke, Joshua, and Zachary; 22 great-grandchildren; 3 great great-grandchildren; and her dearest friend, Edna Cooper.

Family and friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Avenue, Cumberland, on Thursday, December 8, 2022, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m.

Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday, December 9, 2022, at 10 a.m. with Pastor Mike Lashbaugh officiating.

Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be her grandchildren.

The family has requested that, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to WVU Home Hospice, 1952 New Creek Hwy, Keyser, WV 26726.
