Eleanor Jane Wolford, 86, of Cresaptown, passed away on Saturday, June 26, 2021, at her home. Born June 19, 1935, in Cumberland, MD, she was the daughter of the late, Ethel P. (Skelley) Howsare and Homer W. Howsare. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hyle E. Wolford, in 1992. Affectionately known as "Miss Ellie," she was the owner of Ellie's Beauty Shop in Cresaptown. She was a successful business woman and hairdresser for over 25 years. She was a longtime member of Calvary Baptist Church, Cresaptown. Surviving are her sister, Gladys Twardowski, Pasadena, MD; three daughters and their husbands, Kay and Brent Carithers, Jacksonville, FL, Lynn and Dick Devers, New Creek, WV, Tina and Daniel Mulcahy, Shepherdstown, WV; four grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Always thinking of others, she donated her body for medical research in hopes of helping others with rare forms of cancer. Our beloved Mother is at peace in the arms of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
